CTGR to supply 30 mln kWh clean electricity to Beijing Winter Olympics

China Three Gorges Renewables (CTGR) has secured a deal to supply 30 million kWh clean electricity to power the venues of the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, the first green power deal CTG clinched with the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The deal was signed during a fair held by Beijing Electricity Exchange Center for the annual direct clean electricity trading that covers June to December 2021, the first time CTG participates in such an event after it became a sponsor of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

According to the deal, CTGR’ Shijing Wind Farm, located in Shangyi county of Hebei province, will supply clean power to the venues of the event, accounting for 40% of the total clean electricity Beijing Winter Olympics purchased during the fair.

CTG was made the official power generation partner of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics on December 15, 2020, as the company is committed to providing clean energy to light up the Beijing games.
